Hi.
Ive just got my TyTn through the post, problem is, how do i use the keyboard?
The screen will change orientation when i slide it out, but pressing keys on the keyboard appears to do nothing!

Ideas?

Thanks in advance all. :)

im always getting this i have to tap the keyboard icon in the bottom middle of the screen and then select keyboard again and it works

The onscreen keyboard works fine.
Its the physical keyboard that slides out. Doesnt work. At all.
I went through some checks with a HTC Rep and confirmed it as being knackered. Its getting sent back to the retailer tomorrow.

Ah well.
Too late now, its already been shipped off.
We'll soon see i suppose. :).

Any ideas on how i can copy all my contacts from my K800 to it?
If i do just one contact over BT, it works fine, but if i try and send more than one at once, it just messes up? One of the only things i noticed in my very brief time with the phone.

Im not sure that the SE software can do that?
Either way though, im not too keen on that option, as it'd mess up my PC with loads of SE rubbish. :p.

It is a doddle to use SE mobile phone suite to back up just the contacts via outlook, exactly as gurujockstrap said.

It may well be a doddle, but it'll be a right pain for me, as last time i accidently synced my phone with my PC, it messed up the contacts on both, because i have different names/emails/whatever on each device/computer.

Got my new'en.
Seems pretty good.
A few questions though:
- How do i set custom ringtones for each contact?
- How do i close a program? As 'x' just seems to minimise it, meaning i have to go to the memory app to close whatever program.
- How do i customise my today screen a bit more? Ive tryed 'launcher' but i cant get it to work.
- And why wont it play MP3s?

see the thread on here where we flashed our ones with htc's firmware and it has a lot of features built into it as for customizing try spb mobile shell

Seen the Wiki before. I didnt find it much use tbh. Not really a lot on there in regards to what i want to find out. Thanks though. :).

Its a HTC phone, not a branded one. :)

Contacts>Select Contact>Menu>Edit>Ringtone

Now, The ringtones on that list are all located in the Windows folder, so try coppying an MP3 file in there and see if it appears on the list. You can easily set an MP3 file as the default ringtone but not sure if it can be done for each contact.

With older firmware, tapping the X buttom simply minimised the running application. With more recent firware, HTC included an app called Task Manager that allows you to close a program when hitting X. Its here:

Start>Settings>System>Task Manager.

If its not there, then you've got an older firmware version and you'll need to flash.

While its nice to have memory freed up by actually closing the application, the next time you open it there will be a tiny delay as it has to loaded into memory again.

SPB Pocket Plus is pretty popular. In fact, SPB do a whole load of really useful PPC apps.

Why can't you get Launcher to work? We are talking about this one, correct?

I was using SPB Pocket Plus before but now use freeware apps to perform the same tasks. SPB had a useful battery meter which has now been replaced by Batti and the program quick launcher with Launcher. Both do exactly the same thing but use far less memory than SPB and don't slow the phone down.

What are you using to play MP3's? Try Mort Player with Clean Glass skin. Very nice.;)
