HTC TyTN problem

I recently got a HTC TyTN/Vodafone 1605. I got this phone as my previous phone, i-mate K-Jam, developed a problem whereby the backlight would turn off and the only thing I could do to turn the device back on was to remove the battery.

The TyTN is now doing the same. After 2 mins the back light turns off and I cannot turn it back on via the power button. The notification LEDs still flash but I cannot receive callls. Only solution seems to be to remove the battery and power up.

Anyone with any suggestions as to what I am missing before I call Vodafone

Even a soft reset doesn't fix the problem?

My Vario II done that occasionally but since I've flashed the firmware with the latest HTC one, its been problem free.

Thanks for that.

Not worried about it now though as I've returned the phone under 14 day cooling off period. Seems vodafone retentions lied to me and offered a £10 for 10MB add on that doesn't exist, so I've cancelled the contract and ordered an M3100 on orange.

Hi Firstborn

I work for Vodafone and may be able to help.

After checking on our handset, I can confirm that yours does have a fault on it.

If your handsets less than 12mths old, you'll still be covered by the manufacturers warranty. Vodafone can help you claim on the warranty, however, before we can help, you'll need to get into touch with us.

To get in touch with us, all you need to do is go to www.vodafone.co.uk, then contact us. You will then be able to send us an email directly. If you include FIT135 in the body of the text, it will be picked up by a team who monitor the public forums, and will be able to help.

Well as I said above - I am returning the phone to vodafone and an M3100 will arrive from Orange tomorrow. Pretty unimpressed with vodafone to be honest after this.
