What about the samsung galaxy I5700 spica?
IMO, I think it's much better than the wildfire, has a faster processor (800MHz), has a much better screen, doesn't have sense UI on it

, just plain stock android etc.
Have a look at this Samsung I5700 Spica thread:

Plus this week has been great for the Samsung Spica over at samdroid.net

:
- Multi-touch has been developed for the Spica (and it does look amazing, not many problems with it at all, any problems are being fixed straight away by the developer:

- Tom3q over at samdroid.net has written a 3D driver from scratch capable of playing any of the 3D games smoothly (only a few problems that needs to be fixed though i.e. missing textures), and it will also speed the mobile up in general things

- Can be overclocked easily to 1GHz and a bit higher
- A new 2D driver is also going to be released, which will improve the general speed a lot
And some things still to come:
- Leshak is currently working on 2.2 (Although the Samsung Spica might get 2.2 sometime between September and December, not 100% sure yet though as a lot of emails from Samsung saying it is and a few saying no)
- The next thing will be freeing up the rest of the unusable RAM
You will need to be rooted in order to get all of this working, however the I5700 straight out of the box (comes with 2.1 pre-installed) is still a very fast, nice looking mobile, just be sure to put launcher pro plus on instead of using Samsungs crap pantheon home launcher, it makes the mobile very slow and unresponsive (I haven't rooted yet, waiting for 2.2 by leshak with all the new drivers in it).
Why Samsung didn't unlock the true potential of the Spica in the first place, I don't know.
So really this was a mid range budget android mobile when it was first released, but it has now been converted to a beast IMO
Personally I think it is the best budget android mobile that you can buy today, and possibly going to be just as good as the nexus 1 and HTC desire

, once everything is fully working and the final versions of the drivers and froyo have been released (which won't be very long, about 1-2 months I reckon) although some things like the camera and screen resolution etc. won't be anywhere as good
Also there are mixed reports about the Samsung Spica screen, some people think it's AMOLED (including me at first

), but unfortunately it's not

, it is a 16M colour TFT (but a very high quality TFT screen by the looks of it and also by other peoples comments).
