Hi guys I have a collection of mkv 1080p movies on an external hard drive they range from 8gb to about 24gb. I am using VLC player to play these movies, I have set it vlc playing to SPID/F over hdmi this is the only way I can get the proper dolby/dts signal to my av receiver, Its wired; PC > (hdmi cable) AV Reciever > (hdmi cable) TV
When people speak or doors slam or shots fired ect the sound is always lagging its very annoying, anyone know what to do?
Is there anything better then VLC or do I need additional codecs?

cheers

VLC is terrible. I personally hate it.

You should be using nothing other than MPC-HC for MKV files. AC3 Filter lets you adjust sound sync. You can also set the output format in AC3 Filter to "as is" which will bypass any software decoding AFAIK.

MPC will only output the sound in PCM format, not the dolby or dts, sounds only coming out of 2 speakers, anyone know how to sort this out? got the ac3 filter installed
