Hi all,

Ive been messing about with the prospect of building a HTPC with old spare parts that I have lying about and ive decided that im gonna bite the bullet and build it with completly new parts / tech. Can you please spec the parts and tell me if im missing anything or give ideas on what could be improved.

One more thing can someone advise me how to add a attachments onto my post as I have no idea why im not allowed.

Cheers.

You're missing a graphics card here, and as someone who owns a pretty low spec HTPC and only has minor playback issues I think that what you've chosen is way more than enough if its just going to be used for watching films (in my opinion, of course).

Yea thats what im after watching HD movies, having music and stuff on it. Photos of holidays and stuff like that. I didnt bother going with a graphics card because these new boards and cpu's have built in graphics controllers and reading up they are more than ample for the playing of films and the like. I dont intend to game on it to be honest, that is what my main rig is for upstairs so its just really going to be media stuff.

i just received my lian li pc-c33b from overclockers and it is a really lovely case but it does not include the ir remote, so you will have to get a separate remote from somewhere.
apart from that your parts look very nice and will more than do the job.

hopefully i will get my build done this weekend and will get some pics up soon.
