Just curious as to what media centre UI people use. Going to be streaming all my content from another pc.
I personally used XBMC for ages, but now it seams to freeze after playign anything for about 10 seconds.
 
Try the latest nightly release of XBMC instead of the official releases to see if it helps, it shouldn't hang every 10 seconds anyway; tried updating graphics drivers etc?

XBMC probably has the best interface out of all the ones I've seen.
 
Hmm will look in to that. But after spending 3 days and a lot of money on getting the HTPC up and running, it turns out the family dont want it. So it will likely be a doorstop for the near future.
 
Hope this mini-hijack is OK guys, but what front end would you recommend for someone that doesn't care about TV functionality on a media PC? Virgin Media provide my TV / PVR facility and I'm very happy to leave it that way.

exact same situation here, and XBMC :) I'm currently looking at buying an Acer Aspire Revo for running HD goodness.
 
I gave Mediaportal a try but it took so long to setup and import my files and match those to correct descriptions I ended up giving up and going for plain old Windows XP.

Putting your media in folders and using a mouse just works. Simple.

I am in exactly the same situation, i use media center & Media Browser and it works flawlessly.
