Hi

I'm looking at getting a keyboard and Mouse to use with my HTPC. I already have a remote control that will control the front end when I use that.

For a keyboard I am probably looking at the Logitech diNovo Edge. I know it is quite expensive, but it is quite stylish and would sit well in the living room, unless anybody has any other suggestions.

For a mouse I'm not too sure. I have considered the Logitech MX Air. It seems to cover everything that I need for a mouse in the living room. You can use it in the air for general use (I think), and can use it on a little desk when playing some games. Does anyone have any experiance of using this? When using it in the air, I know you can use gestures to do certain things, but I assume that you can also use it like a normal mouse (like the Wii controller). Is that correct? Is there anything else you would consider instead?

Cheers in advance.

If you have an iphone get Airmouse from the app store, works great for media pc, does mouse and keyboard

Not sure how much you are going to use the Keyboard/Mouse, but I have an HTPC, and don't use the keyboard much, so got an Accuratus, keyboard with a trackball mouse integrated.

It is fine, good range etc, but I wouldn't want to use it for doing a lot of typing.

Yeah, I'm not sure how much i would use the keyboard as of yet. I would be using the mouse more than the keyboard, and if I can use the Logitech Air to sit on the sofa and move the cursor by tilting the mouse, that would be great, I'm just not sure how well these things work.

I've also heard that Gyration also do similar mouses. Anybody used these?

The other thing to consider is the range on the wireless keyboard/mouse...

My Logitech Cordless MX Desktop keyboard/mouse combo doesn't work when it's more than a couple of metres away from the receiver - so I've had to trail a USB extension cable around the room so I can habe the receiver to the side of the sofa.

Thats a good point. I've just checked the range of the mouse. According to the spec it has an operating range of 9 meters, so it should be fine for my room. The keyboard is bluetooth 2, so the range should be fine.

I bought the MS Wireless 8000 when I setup my HTPC and its great but now I just find myself using my iPhone for everything but games.
