Hey guys, looking at chucking some old components together and running a linux/xbmc combo to see how I get on with it to start with before buying new components.

What remote control would be good for this?

i know one of the guys at my work runs a myth setup, and he had issues getting remotes to work...i'm sure you'll get advice much quicker than this - but ill find out on monday how he got it all setup in the end and post it back - assuming you've not got it working by then, obviously!

The WMCE remote is well supported with MythTV, presumably it's the same with XBMC. If necessary you can get the LIRC config file for one easily.

I use the Streamzap remote with mine and it works out of the box as well.

Depends on how you want to attach the IRsensor to your box. USB? Serial receiver?
I'm using the hauppauge nova-t as my dvb-t card. The supplied remote works well via the minijack dongle.
FYI, almost any remote will work with a receiver with the correct lirc configs.
Oh I'm running knoppmyth as my dedicated media centre.
