Hi Folks,

I have a HTPC with an onboard ATI 3200 gfx chip. It's connected to my 32" 720p LCD via HDMI. The TVs native resolution is 1366x768.

In the ATI CCC I can't select this resolution, choosing 720p from the TV menu in CCC doesn't seem to work propery so at the moment it is set to 1280x768 but it doesn't really fill the screen.

What are the best settings to use to get the best picture?
Can you explain what overscan does and how it affects the picture quality.
Also, does the Hz setting affect the picture quality, it is set at 30hz at the moment but I think it could go higher.

Thanks

Matt

The best settings would be 1366x768 @ 50hz, but a lot of screens wont like this. So you'll have to choose 720p50hz and resize to fit.

With video, it'll look 99% as good as the native res, just windows text that will look a little blurry.

I have no problem with my ATI 3200 based HTPC running 1360x768 over HDMI to a 20" (720P I assume) LCD TV. The quality is excellent. Weird you can't select that resolution.

I use 1280*768 on my 32" LCD, there's an option in the ATi CCP to zoom in on the image to make it fit, video looks fine, text is a bit blurry in Vista.
