I certainly cannot say. The latest Alpha 'Atlantis' build was released on Tuesday for anyone interested. I haven't noticed a huge amount of difference myself, still a few quirks and the Quicktime movie plugin still seems to hate me so. Shame, as that is one of my favourite features.
One thing I have noticed is that HD playback is less stuttery compared to the previous build, far more watchable so they are getting there
. They also have yet to make it multi core-aware either but that is on the cards.
Beansprout, it might be an idea to have a look at the XBMC forums/post and ask. Personally I reckon that disc-based HD media will be supported, but who knows how long it will take, unless it is already enabled? DVD is supported already and standard DTS/DD are too.
