HTPC to replace a Popcorn Hour C-200

If you're feeling flush, I wholeheartedly recommend an Apple Mac Mini with Plex or XBMC.

Use mine from a NAS for media, or as a main machine to surf the net. 100% silent, decent performance and about as user friendly as you can get for a PC.

Link to my media centre thread, in my sig

I have a Revo 3610 and am in the process of setting it up as a NAS and media player under Windows 7. I bought a Samsung F4 2TB HD and an Icy Box eSata external enclosure. My idea is to Leave it all on 24/7 so my other computers can access it at any time.

So far I have setup the external 2TB drive as a share and set the Revo to sleep after 30mins. I'm guessing this is the best way of doing things?

I do have one problem though, The external drive will not sleep. Is there anything i should do to get it to sleep or power down until accessed?

i had issues with the 3610 on some content (juddery, sound out of sync etc).

just replaced it with a core2 quad box for about the same price.. never happier :)
