HTPC Upgrade -Need advice.

Looking to upgrade my HTPC as I can't really play many games any more and I think it's mostly down to the CPU.

HTPC atm

HD7850

Considering..

Intel Pentium K Anniversary G3258 £49.99
Asrock H97 Pro4 Intel H97 - £64.99
Corsair XMS3 8GB - £67.99
HD7850 - No change as I think it's probably enough.



So is this worth it? thoughts? Not sure about the G3258 but it does seem very well priced.

I've had bad experience with teamgroup so would prefer to avoid them, also case supports full atx, no need for micro.

Overclocked it would be

Reviews have been very good considering it dual core, In some instances it does drop behind the quad-core options a lot but compared to me Q9550 it should still be an improvement, and yes I will be overclocking.

If you plan on overclocking, wouldn't you need a Z97 board!

But the price goes up quite a bit for them, what about the MSI B85-G43 Intel B85 ?

Surely they can handle some mild overclocking, it's a HTPC at the end of the day so I don't want to spend a lot.
