HTPC Video Up-scaling compared to PS3?

Hi,

I currently have a PS3 and only use it to play movies/videos. I am thinking about replacing it with an HTPC but want to know whether a decent HTPC set up (looking at spending circa £500) will be able to upscale non-HD video as well as the PS3. This is one area that the PS3 does really well (imo) and wondering what I would need in order to replicate this with an HTPC.

Any advice gratefully received.

get the new popcorn hour a 400, simpler, and better picture quality, far less hassle

Your be far better off Just getting a decent TV that upscales SD well..

And then any sources you use with it will look great..
