I prefer the UI of googles market for some things, the main thing I don't like is how the apps are laid out as you said, the icons are too big IMO.

Plus with appbrain you can:

See what your friends have installed.

Arrange by popularity for today, week, month or all time.

etc.

The lack of filtering in the market on the phone and now on the website is utterly beyond belief. Why can't I filter or sort by price? I know it will improve but seriously, the amount of effort to put all of this together, a few filtering option would be so simple.

Would have thought that they would have added these simple things to make it much better, granted they will do so with time, but tbh they showed this back at their big 2.2 presentation which also showed some other things for the future of android, which was ages ago and not much looks different apart from the UI for the Android market.

Would be cool to have an uninstall feature as well.

You can choose which handset to have the app installed to.

completely agree, I just wanted to sort by category and I cou;dn't do it. Considering google was originally all about search it's quite bad really :rolleyes:

Also, I uninstalled some apps last night and this morning but yet when I go on the android market website now and to my account, it still shows the apps as being installed :confused:

Do I need to change a setting or something on my mobile?

I uninstalled one this morning and it hasn't show up. There isn’t anything extra to be done on your device so it’s probably just a teething problem with the new system.

Finally! This was one area where the Market was really lacking. I think Google has the upper hand over Apple now, as you can't use the the App Store properly from a browser.

That's what the app store is for on the iPhone/iTunes. Works perfectly.

Indeed, you can't install an app from the website, you need itunes installed.

I gather this is an ongoing drawback, but I can't sign in with my Google Apps (my own) domain username.. :confused:
