Huawei Ascend G300

since i have been using the Ideos X5 which was the predecessor of this phone, those who flashed ICS are you aware of the fps cap Huawei forces in the firmware? there was a mod to unlock the fps which made the phone feel like it was 50% overclocked without the cap.

Again, not sure if this phones ICS rom has the cap but check it out, its a must mod.

hi guys, im using the Official Andriod 4.0 general version from the Huawei website, on my G300, its the B934 ROM, and works a treat, if you want the voda software back on there just search for it in Play store.

this needs to be flashed from the phone SD card, full instructions are included.

only one issue during this, i needed to use the 'U8815 middle update package' before i could flash the new rom, it kept failing on me,

Does the ICS B934 fix the poor ringtone volume that is set to start quite and then get louder but doesnt actually go anywhere near as loud as it should?

So annoying its making me want to sell it.
 
Quick question on RAM and internal storage guys

According to my "Manage applications" I have

Running Processes RAM : 159 used + 174 free = 334MB
Internal Storage : 417 used + 339 free = 756MB
SD Card Storage : 1.6 used + 505 free = 2105MB

Am I interpreting this wrong, as I thought it had 512MB RAM

Hi, do any of you G300 owners have any pics online that you've taken with the camera? I've recommended this phone for my girlfriend but she wants a decent camera. That said, she's going to be comparing it against her old SE C950 so surely the pics are going to be better than that! :p

Also, how's the battery life?
 
The SE C905 (I assume thats what you mean) has one of the better camera on any mobile. 8.1 Megapixel camera and most importantly a xenon flash. Very few mobiles have a camera with that flash and thus can't compete with it in low light, indoors etc. Thats true even today. Only current mobiles with a xenon flash are the Nokia N8 or 808.

The G300 would very poor in comparison. Its ok for a budget phone only.

G300 has a bit of a camera software problem. Seems to focus then unfocus after picture has been taken. Will absolutely PALE in comparison to a camera orientated phone.

Got my G300 today, so far rooted and just trying to back up my IMEI as per this THREAD .

I have download the toolbox apk file put on my sd card but how do I run it?

I download astro and looked for it but it doesn't show.

Sorry, I was given incorrect information. It was the w850i she had and liked the camera. The camera was 2megapixels.. yes 2! Nowhere near in the same league as the c905 lol...

OK got this sorted now, before I was downloading on pc and transferring to sd,I downloaded through phone and it worked.

Now my next step is the rom, which is the latest ICS rom everyone is using?
 
I'm using the Infusion B934 ROM. Been good over the past few weeks. It isn't the latest ROM but it's probably more optimized than the latest stock releases.
 
I've got an issue, unrelated to the above - sorry, my install just worked fine - but my phone keeps moaning about not having any memory despite me having a 32gb SDHC card in it, and having most of the internal storage available also.

This means I can't update any applications, yet most of the time I can actually install new ones! :confused: Any ideas what this might be about or how I can fix it?

You sure it doesn't mean RAM? And ash, try a factory reset?
