Quite a few elises? Not the 111r's buddy, do a search on autotrader within 40 miles of your postcode and tell me how many 111r's you find, I bet it won't be many compared to the likes of a VW...
Thats comparing apples and pears though. To claim VW in general are mass produced, and saying a very particular type of Elise isn't, isn't really fair.

Ok, if that what you want, then go on autotrader and tell me how many Dahlracing tuned polos you find within 40 miles please :)

As previously stated, anyone can tune a car but you can't give it character. A mega overtuned box on 4 wheels isn't much fun....

Pics with the bread will be uploaded shortly :O

I know, he brought my car into the arguement! :)

I stated my opinion, something which some people obviously don't like, but that is the whole idea of a forum. A good debate livens up a very boring monday afternoon!

Yours is still a box on 4 wheels, and personally I'd say that Olop had more character, much more individual etc

Didn't you used to drive a BMW? If so I smell hypocrisy...

I had an M3 which is slightly less 'mass produced' as a normal BMW, but I got rid of it. It was nowhere near as fun as the elise is simply because you put your foot down in the elise and you can count the ants as you run over them.

The polo has more character than an Elise eh, well each to their own I suppose, but I think I know where I would be spending my £20,000.... and I certaintly wouldn't consider a polo.

Have you driven a mk4 R32?

Have you driven a mk1 GTi?

Have you driven a mk5 GTI with the DSG Gearbox?

An elise, why does that make any difference?

I just hate VW, every single one I have driven is horrible and sluggish, they look fat and bloated and you get no sense that any effort went into building it

You could always get a tuned Dahlback Elise

350bhp 1.8T VAG lump :D

I have driven the R32 and it was awful. I chose the M3 over the R32 simply because it was 100x better and half the cost.

I've also driven a mk2 gti, mk4 TDi and mk5 gti, none of which made me smile whilst driving which is what a car should do.

A 350bhp elise - what's the point? It will hit 60 in less than 5 seconds, revs to 8600rpm and handles better than most any other car available on the road.

Now explain to me, how is a polo better than an elise? I'm dying to hear this....

I thought a VAG 1.8T was one of the common Elise engine conversions - maybe I am wrong....

Oh and I didn't say that the Polo is better than the Elise, you might want to re-read through that :)

Case closed.

Oh dear, you seem to have major issues. A 3.2 V6, 4WD car that can barely manage 0-60 in 6 seconds is not a good car, it's also pig ugly.

In an S1 maybe but I see no advantage what swapping out the amazingly high revving toyota engine in the 111r could bring. I can easily beat a Cupra R, the best of the 1.8T cars....

Oh yeah, I forgot 0-60 time's make a good car - my mistake.

But a Cupra R is not the same as an Elise with a 1.8T engine, is it?

I can outpace a Prelude VTEC in the Supra but I couldn't outpace a Mini with a Prelude VTEC engine in it.

that proves there arent many for sale. regardless of the model, its an elise and there are loads of them, everywhere.
