O.k this has beaten me to the bone, I cannot think for the life of me where the problem Lies.

Basically my mates computer runs like turd and scores 5k points in 3D mark 06 unstable in games with crashes after 30mins or on game boot-up with blue screen of death.

Ive tired another 8800 different ram, different CPU, different motherboard and 2 different PSUs. Its currently Using a Teagan 650W E6600 4GB 1066 and Asus P5K.

I have tired the latest drivers as well as beta's and I have the latest version of Direct X.

PLEASE SOME-ONE SAVE ME *looks for some rope*

EDIT: 3d Mark 06 CPU score 2700( nothing wrong there )

1) What brand/model hdd's is he using?
2) Are you sure the PCI-E isn't in 1x mode?
3) How long has he had this card?
4) Checked for viruses?

Matthew

And double check that you really do have both power plugs in, check both on the graphics card and on the PSU, i had a similar problem recently and that was the issue :)

Have you tried an OS reinstall? It doesn't sound like a hardware problem as you've tried replacing pretty much every component, including the gfx card.

Sometimes it's as simple as going back and starting over. It's happened to me before and all it was was the windows install being borked. Ran it again and all was well.

I may be wrong but it's a thought.

What brand is it, i have just sent my XFX8800Ultra XXX back as it kept freezing during games. I had the latest drivers and tried it in different pc,s and changed everything from ram, to mobo and still it froze. It looked like the card was overheating so i sent it back
