Mars is geologically dead and combined with a lack of magnetic field doesn't exert enough of a pull through mavity to hold onto a heavy earth like atmosphere. The Earth will probably be roasted by the dying Sun before it becomes anything like Mars.

There's still about 5 billion years left before the Sun begins to turn into a red giant and the core's outer shell expands into a nebula frying everything in the solar system.

Before that fireworks event not to be missed though, we are more likely to be hit by an Asteroid that wipes life on this planet out, it's already happened at least once before.
