Huge start line screw up @ Le Castellet

This is the odd one out, because the safety car clearly isn't at fault here. What on earth was Wurz doing?

It looked like he was braking for the left hander, but the safety car intended to go straight on, so didn't brake.

Hence.. rammage.

Jeep Cherokee can't brake as fast as an F3 car, and Wurz's extremely close cut change of line wasn't expected on the part of the SC driver.

Oooppps. Did the safety car forget or what? doubt we'll ever know
The race director decided to do an extra pace car lap, they just forgot to notify the teams in time, the only notification they got was a last minute message on the timing screen as the cars were coming to the green light but by then it was too late.

Of the cars involved the #77 Felbermayr Proton Porsche which was a brand new car is now a right off.

Who will be held responsible for this? Will it just be put down to a "well, that's racing! LOL" style incident?
Sounds completely unprofessional and looked a complete farce.
The ACO just face the fact it was there mistake and pay at least some of the cost, but i doubt that will happen and it will be the teams that pay.

Some pictures of both of the IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche's that were both heavily damaged, of which the #76 was also a brand new car.

Anyway some consolidation for the Porsche teams that the GTE Manufacturers have agreed to a rule change where at the end of the season everyone will drop there worst result of the season so only 4 of the 5 results will count towards the championship.

Taki Inoue getting run over by the safety car...

I don't know if this was caught by the cameras, but during practice at Monaco in 1995, Taki Inoue was being towed back to the pits when he was hit by the safety car and his Arrows flipped over. The safety car was being driven by rally driver Jean Ragnotti who was driving a little too enthusiastically. Inoue never saw him coming.

The accident was fairly bad - Inoue's crash helmet had a large crack running through it. It could have been far worse though. Inoue wasn't wearing his seatbelts because he was being towed fairly slowly.
