Hughes Sacked !

Liverpool should follow the lead & get rid of Rafa.

But as for Hughes i feel sorry for him, he was building a team in a cup semi final only lost 2 leagues games this season what more can the guy do

Silly decision really by City on this one, they're 6th and in the Carling Cup semis, that's not at all bad. Hughes should have been left in charge until the end of the season and simply sacked if City didn't finish in the top 4.

So what now? No doubt another splurge of cash on new players, will it actually help city? I doubt it.

Glad to see most of the City fans are equally disappointed in the way he was kicked out though,

I think everyone saw this coming from the moment Man City got their hands on the money.

Not overly happy Mancini is the new boss, would have preferred to see Jose Mourinho back in the PL personally.

Good decision, he was clearly out of his depth at a club with such ambitions and they simply weren't winning enough games considering how much money he'd had to spend. Makes perfect sense to get rid of him now IMO as it gives the new manager the opportunity to have some input into transfers in January.

For me the only surprise was that he lasted this long.

Hughes wasn't the man for the job but I'm not sure Mancini is either, and he has to adopt a team which isn't his. They should have probably given Hughes a year at least

It's been reported on Sky Sports News that the deal for Mancini was done on Dec 2nd when Man City beat Arsenal in teh League Cup. I am sure Gary Cook, the chief exec has said Hughes job was safe since then.

Jose?

With all that cash whoever comes in is going to be under a lot of pressure.

Unfortunately MH has never had a large pot of cash to spend before. They bought too many FM wonderkids from previous editions.

Agreed, if they are going to make the change they need to do it now so the new fella can get his own people in and try and save their season.

I too am only surprised he lasted this long, he was never then man to be given that kind of money to spend.
