reason for post ,reading Isaac Asimov and drinking red wine
question ,anyone else expected more from humanoid robots in 2021 and /or will we ever get anywhere near a robot that can replicate a human being to a decent percentage ? (badly worded but wine is strong]
we have this

https://asimo.honda.com/asimo-specs/

https://www.hansonrobotics.com/sophia/

but will we get this (meaning realistic rather than a companion you can have errr fun with{moon man starts to sound pervy }

I heard that feminist groups are already lobbying against sex dolls/robots because they're regarded as misogynistic, because they're assuming that only men will use the robots. It's along the same lines as strip clubs and prostitutes.

But when the sexes are reversed (male strippers, chippendales etc), it's no longer a problem is it? Because it's allowed

One rule for us and a different rule for the fairer sex.

Given favourable conditions and unlimited time + resources, what would be the reason for humanity not to do X, or not to be able to do X?

1) X conflicts with our ethics
2) Something better makes X undesirable in the first place

Androids are fine and all, but I'm personally waiting for the advances in genetics that make catgirls a reality ;)

By the time technology advances enough to create a life like sex robot I'll be too old to use it :(

Yeah same. :(
More chance of virtual with proper personality where we are 'plugged in' than a physical fully realistic android

Heard from who? Do you subscribe to some kind of feminist RSS feed?

Apart from the dodgy aspect I started under the influence, I was also thinking it would be nice if say you get a loan on a robot, set it to work and it pays your living, sort of a collective of robots in a factory all individually funded, hopefully reliable or you end up fixing yours all the tiime.
Just thinking before work, caffine this time....

No way man, Foxgirls are where it's at.

Cat or fox girls are fine until they start licking their butt holes in front of your friends or ransack the bins in the middle of the night.

There will be no humanoid robots any time soon, at least not without useless run time. The power source seems to be a limiting factor.

While it may happen, there are far more efficient body plans for robots, like tracked/wheeled or quadrupedal like Spot etc. 4 legged sex bot anyone? I'll get my coat

Tough choice, Gemma Chan or Alicia Vikander?

It's is a tough one but I'd go for Gemma Chan

On a more serious note. I would see a fully functioning bi-peddle robot within the next 30 years. But if you're waiting for a 2B, Gemma Chan or Alicia Vikander, then we're looking more like 80-100 years away.

feminist groups in the US are trying to get bills passed to ban sex robots decades before they're invented. Bit of a double standard when they have 90% of sex toys out there
