Humans (Persona synthetics - android servant)

The human element of this is the really surprising part. It's wonderful plot wise but I never expected it to be so touching and powerful emotionally.

The fallout concerning the dad having sex with Anita really grated with me. All the way through the wife has been extremely vocal about calling Anita "it" and chastised anyone who called it anything else. Now, the moment after he confesses to dipping his wick in it, she's calling it a "she". I suspect this is a simple play to try and tug on our heart strings, but I thought it was very clumsily done.

Apart from the acting of both parents and the above it's a decent enough watch though so far.

Wow loads of reveals in yesterday's episode and the show has just gotten even interesting.

I think the two events kind of coincided nicely. She was slowly coming around to seeing Anita as a member of the family, and just as that happens the husband does what he did. Plus with the other stuff she's dealt with without telling her husband about has just broke her I think.

I agree, like I said before she looked at Anita like she was a vacuum cleaner and then started to have a bit of empathy when he dipped his wick.

That isn't what you said before. :p

Well I don't know what you're reading but twice I compared Anita to a vacuum cleaner -

I thought it was the perfect response about a machine.
She was looking at it like he'd put his willy in a vacuum cleaner.

and

Of course she saw it as cheating, with a vacuum cleaner.

And then she started to take Anita's side when she realised there was more to her

Genuinely not intending to be petty and argumentative here, just to be clear. It's just that I disagreed with what you initially said:

Her reaction was far more akin to someone who felt their husband had just slept with another woman than someone who'd been caught with a sex doll (words he used himself and she snapped at). She saw it as cheating, and you can't cheat on someone without another person being involved so in that moment (and thereafter), she'd humanised Anita as opposed to viewing her as an appliance.

We'll have to disagree, I still think she looked at her like a Fleshlight and then humanised her when she saw the other side come out.

Whilst I like the series still, I'm not sensing any great plot reveal/twist coming. I feel like the bulk of the story has been "done" and we are just drifting towards an overly conclusion.

I may yet be proved wrong, but I think it's disappointing the story was unravelled so quickly, because it's interesting and provocative.

Bit of a disappointing ending. Compared to the rest of the season it felt hastily put together.

There was more adverts than I remembered, apart from that, it's left it with plenty of potential to go all different directions, I enjoyed it for something that came out of Channel 4, and I'd definitely watch Season 2 when it's out.

I mas disappointed with the ending, a big anticlimax for me. I will probably check out series 2, but that's mostly in hope that they can get back some of it's early mojo.

Ditto, really. Both the o/h and me thought it petered off a bit at the end. Shall still look forward to S2, though, as it's better than most of the other **** of TV at the moment.

yup bit of a slow ending but it ends on a positive note and season 2 confirmed, wish channel 4 made this show 15 or 18 ;)

Enjoyed the show overall but thought the ending seemed rather weak.
The synth family was all about getting back together and living as a family. Then suddenly at the end the hot blonde walks off alone and they leave Fred hidden under a blanket in the corner. I didn't get it :S

I agree it was a weak ending but more for the daft things like being able to free them just by saying their teenage daughter has evidence on a laptop, 2 seconds later they were free lol.

As for her walking off alone, she wants to use the copy she made of the program to make all the other synths sentient and knows that the others wouldn't agree. Whether that was her plan all along or just spur of the moment i've no idea.
