Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend a decent tyre alignment centre (preferably using Hunter equipment) in the Surrey/South London area?

I've done a search but couldn't find anything so sorry if this has been posted before.

Ta. :)

Depends on the car doesn't it.

guess so if i had a bugatti beyron id want a hunter machine doing it

the hunter machine is also good for if youve repaired a crash damaged car and you want to see if anything else is out

i had a car aligned on a normal laser tracker (BOTH FRONT AND REAR ADJUSTED) for £40 anyway about 6 months later i got 2 new front tyres and they said do u you want a tracking check, (on the hunters machine) when they put it on the machine they so it was 100% fine

thats why i think its overrated

So you're basing your opinion on the Hunter equipment being overrated based on the fact you once had it done normally, and that ONE time, it was done to the standard a Hunter machine would do it?

the machine is good probably the best but these places charging £100 for it r taking the ****, its not worth that much on a standard average car, i can get it done for £48

On cars with fully adjustable camber, caster, toe front, and camber and toe at the rear, proper alignment (not just 'all in the green bruv') can make a night and day difference to tyre wear, handling, predictability of the car, and overall driver enjoyment.

Granted, if your idea of car ownership is a-b travel, you'll just benefit from tyre wear improvement and overall driving safety.

Thanks for the replies guys - I've found a garage close to me that uses the system and have an appointment booked. :)

Cheers for your help.

Most of the benefits of alignment are not from the machin but the settings the specialist use. Sure getting the OEM settings spot on is nice, but the real benefit is when you move to more focused settings

I do mine with string and a tape measure. First time I did it, I then got it checked on one of the places that uses lasers, and it was bang on spec
