Hurricane Katia - Storm thread!

I removed the perspex roof from my dog run yesterday just incase the wind does pick up and damage it. Safely tucked away in the shed. But all it's done so far is rain. Oh and I'm right up the north coast of Northern Ireland. So should get hit pretty hard.

shame it's going to hit scotland, we haven't really had a decent hurricane since 1987, wish mother nature would sort that out!! lol

we've had vicious winds for a couple of days down on the south coast, the beach is only 20-30 yards behind my house with nothing major to deflect it but it's usually like that anyways lol

Get in your car, or get a mate to take you up if you don't drive. :p

From what I've heard it looks like it's not to be missed.

OMGGGGGGGGG!!!

Just seen someones piece of clothing get blown off the washing line.

Yep we are in for a hurricane.

I must say I'm mildly irritated by people saying that we are getting a hurricane. It's not even close. :p

Had some really heavy rain/hail/wind last night but nothing that is going destroy anything :p

Pathetic hurricane is pathetic.

If the wind picks up tomorrow, I shall be heading up there to experience the proper 'tail-end' of the storm. I've done crazy stuff like this before, in 2006 I went down south to get a feel for what Hurricane Gordon was up to, and I've wanted to do it again ever since... really makes you appreciate the power of nature.

You should storm chase/watch in the midwest US, some great storms in fall & spring.

It's not a hurricane, hell it's not even a tropical storm any more!

Kind of windy here in Manchester though...
