Hustle

Why is it that most of our series are really short? 6 episodes? Come on seriously. I want more than that, what is it with the best British sitcoms?

When e.g. Allo Allo won an american contract for a year they shortened each episode slightly, but then made 22(I think) that year. It didn't effect the quality of each one etc.

British series are usually written by one or two writers.

American series usually have teams of writers.

This is the first series of Hustle I've seen - I'll have to rent/buy the rest now. :)

Yes I know, but as shown by that example, it can be done.

It's not just the BBC that does this, it's also our other channels too.

Edit - and that poor barman lol!

Always the way with these series. First few are good and the rest appear laboured and lacking in something.

The female pales in comparison to Jaime Murray (Stacie)

I've never watched Hussle, but Murray's doing a great job of livening up the current series of Dexter (running on ITV)... both in acting terms and a, er, more hormonally led way. What an absolutely gorgeous woman with an even more attractive voice.

Andrew McP... somewhat under the influence after last night's episode, in which slightly more than acting talent was on display.

Not a bad series.

But no where near as good as series 1 and 2.
Im slowing watching most of the series on DVD now, to catch up.

But one thing, i really hate the guy the who plays the new guy in Hustle, his acting is rubbish and well . . .
But the girl she is good but the thing between her and Mickey should have never been written as it seems abit cheesey and fake.

But meh, beats a lot of other tv shows on the BBC.

I am enjoying this series but I must say Hustle has suffered with the loss of Danny. I wasn't too fussed about Stacy, but Danny added some great comedy to the show. The new girl seems ok and is VERY good looking, but Matt Di Angelo is appalling and really doesn't fit in in my view - he lacks any kind of personality that makes him memorable, something which Danny certainly had. If any of Mickey, Ash or Albert leaves, the show it HAS to be cut. It's still much better than many shows on the box, however, as the script is very well written and the plots are well thought out.

I think the new guy needs a bit more time to fit in if he's to replace Danny as the character was becoming interesting rather than the standard overprotective brother, but with the news of the sixth series it looks like they're trying to get the old cast back as well as the new crew. It's difficult to replace a popular actor/character in only six episodes since last Thursday's episode was the series finale.
