Do these drives automatically move the most accessed files to the flash portion of storage regardless of OS?

I'm running retropie from an external SSHD and wondering if over time ill see the benefits of quicker boot times etc

cheers!

I have one on an office PC and the OS boots very fast (in seconds), like an SSD, browsing with Chrome is also very responsive.

Something like Windows updates takes longer than a SSD though.

ok, so my understanding is that the drive itself (independently, regardless of OS) will do the work of moving the most frequently used files to the flash portion of the drive.

nice one thank you!

If it helps, this is what mine says in the datasheet:

"The H200’s fast read speeds are achieved through an optimised self-learning caching algorithm, providing quick access to your frequently-used applications, game saves, and data.

...

The quick learner
By storing your most frequently-accessed data to NAND, optimised self-learning caching algorithm means you get faster access to the files you use"

that's brilliant thank you!
i was just wondering if it was OS/Driver controlled or self learning :)
