My first post, please be gentle!

Like many I expect the Skylake release will be cue to upgrade from an old (Q6600) PC and technology has changed an awful lot since the days that was put together.

For the new PC I'd like to use an SSD, with a further HDD for storage, and some programs. The Hybrid HDDs certainly look interesting especially with the reviews where they are allowed the time for the algorithm to set them up properly.

There seems very little discussion about these components, is that because few have used them, or are they considered something people don't use, if so why?

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

I had the Seagate Momentus XT, but for the difference in price , id say it is not worth it at all. SSD prices are coming down all the time anyways and i would use a pure SSD for the OS.

I have a SSD + HDD set up on my main rig and the HDD is used to store back ups and iTunes.

To be honest, my new Z70 laptop came with one, and its laggy as hell. Even though I would like the 1Tb of storage, I have a spare 120Gb SSD here which is getting cloned onto it.

It might be just because my old laptop and my main pc uses SSD's and I am not used to having to waaaaait for stuff or they really are crap as its a laptop drive, im not sure.
