Anyone else got this? It's excellent so far. Quite challenging at this point (2 hours in) but the art style and music (especially!..it's similar to the music in It Follows).

This had completely missed my radar - and it's ****ing great!

A fast paced Secret of Mana meets Dark Souls (which is all you need to know if you're a fan of these games!), with stunning pixel art and ambient music. Nothing is explained - there's no dialogue or text of any kind. Even in the menus. Story and conversations are delivered in pictures and everything else in symbols. ******* hard at points and super satisfying. This is what video games should be imho and a very welcome change from the dross we tend to get today!

Everyone pick up Hyper Light Drifter! It's probably better than the PC game you're playing right now.

//edit and when he does that little sword twirl and stabs the ground after beating a tough enemy! booyah!

I wouldn't say it's similar to Risk of Rain. Very different gameplay (as Warbie mentioned) and it's more about exploring a huge ruined and mysterious world.

Yeah, big map, lots exploration, and getting lost! Weirdly I quite enjoy getting lost in certain video games and having to work out what was missed. There's upgrades, bosses. It's a bit metroidvania too. And perhaps a tiny bit bullet hell. Mostly it's the atmosphere. I love video games that put me some place completely different and alien and this does that very well.

Despite being very different - I suspect anyone who like the Souls games will be all over this.

Backed on Kickstarter and kind of forgot about it. Installed it on release and really like what I have played of it so far.

I was an original backer of this as I had fallen in love with the idea behind the game, and the graphics and feel of it. Seriously glad I did.

I'm not the best player of 'hardcore' games, and this can be quite unforgiving for me, but the atmosphere and aesthetics more than make up for that!

Saw this on Reddit re 360 controller not working:

EDIT5: It's working! (at least for me and a few others in the steam forum) Thanks to steam user "sunmachine"
Close HLD.
From Windows control panel, open up your Programs and Features dialog to Add/Remove Programs.
Look for Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable. You may see two versions: one for x64, one for x86.
Right click on each, select "Change", and opt to "Repair".
Restart your game.

Thanks for posting but yeh I seen that in the discussions area. I didn't have 2015 on the machine at all so installed it but no joy.

It also says they are working on a patch for the controllers so hopefully this will sort it before I spend more time on getting it working.

Looks amazing though, even the start of the game. Looking forward to playing it :p

*edit* having said that I only installed the x64 ver so will grab the x86 ver now and give it a try - cheers

That's a bummer :/

This is easily my favourite game for a good number of years. Everything about it. It gets better the more you play and it starts off great. I even don't think I enjoyed any of the Souls games this much, and they were the top runners!
