For some reason, my ASUS P8Z77-V motherboard will not disable hyper-threading. I went to into BIOS and went into advanced and disabled hyper-threading. I exited the BIOS and clicked " Save & Reset". When my PC booted into Windows 7 it still showing 8 cores. I checked the BIOS and it says Hyper-threading disabled.

I have updated my BIOS and updated my Windows

This is my current PC spec:

Intel i7 3770K
ASUS P8z77-v
AMD 9750
8GB Corsair XMS 3
650 XFX PSU

I have the same motherboard and it does have problems with settings getting stuck, the latest bios (1908 I think) seems to be a little bit better in this respect.

Changing BCLK or running the OC Tuner in bios usually forces a 'hard' reboot (pc powers down completely then starts rather than just rebooting). Failing that it's clear cmos with jumper I'm afraid :(

This is strange could the bios be corrupt?? On all my ASUS boards it disables fine as I use it disabled for the majority of benchmarks.

I've had issues with iGPU, CPU multiplier, voltages and hyperthreading on/off values sticking with this particular motherboard :(
