A quality headset for a similar price to the modmic I've stuck to my AKG712 - really puts into perspective how good value you're getting. Shame I'm all sorted on that front

They aren't really comparable to the AKGs, my AKG 702 cost three times as much as these.

probably not. I have tried a variety of high end audio equipment and am yet to find a solution where grime sounds anything other than crap.
