** HYPER X CLOUD PROMO CODE - hyperhs18 **

Oh please if you have exposed the wires inside the braided cable that is totally on you. You can't damage them unless your deliberately putting it in a situation that will break it.

I have to agree about the two years thing. I must have had around 5 pairs of headsets and every one has ended up dying in some way before two years.

Many pairs of headphones last longer than 2 years. I have treated my HD598 horribly and they function perfectly.

Surely braid on the cables adds a layer of protection over the rubber insulation? Without pictures it's hard to help but cables are easy to fix/prevent from breaking.

And the screws will be a standard size. Once you know the size a replacement screw will cost pennies.

I've had various pairs of headphones, both in-ear and over ear and none have lasted long. Granted, most of them were cheap purchases, the HyperX Cloud being my first hope at spending more money for more reliability. Thankfully they still fully function, just that I'm worried that mightn't last long with the state of the cables.

With the braided cables, I've had the same issue with my mouse which has braided cables. Within the first couple weeks of regular daily use, the braids ended up coming off. Of course there usually isn't any damage to the cable itself, my mouse has no problems besides the braids coming off. Here's an image I found on these very forums of what happens:

As for the screws, I've got no clue what size they are. There is also the possiblility that the screw hole thread has been stripped, which would explain why the screw disappeared in the first place (it would also mean a replacement screw wouldn't help). But thanks for the post. I think I might just superglue it back together.

Anyone who knows a lot about headphones help me out here?
I have relatively big ears and a relatively big head also.. Not fun for finding comfy headsets
I have the following selection

Creative fatal1ty (earcups too small)
Plantronics 780 7.1 (earcups too small as they are square its only JUST too small)

Then iv got two pairs which fit perfectly
Panasonic HTF600s
Senn HD 419

Are the hyperx clouds anything like the two above dimension wise of earcups. Id like a good pair of comfy headphones which have a microphone included on the headset so i don't have to fork out silly cash for a modmic to attach to my senns and panasonics

I have these Unicorn.
Looking at the Senn HD 419, earcups look identical.
PS with the plantronics, twist the earcup 90', makes the cup have more room horizontally.

Twist the earcups? Can i do that without tearing them.. I may have to have a go as i do enjoy them for 7.1 occasionally.

Earcups according to measurements online are..

Senns 555 (similar cups to 419 apparently)
70mm x 40mm

Hyperx according to a post on reddit are
70mmx 45mm

Im hoping these are accurate as im close to buying :)

Yep its totally fine they dont tear, I used the Plantronics GameCom 380 for a year or two before I got the hyper x, the earpads twist all the way around, just grab the earpad with one hand, the plastic with another and slowly twist it.

Here is a pic of the hyper earcups with a 360 controller for scale.
I use the velour earcups as they are super comfortable :)
Held agaisnt a wall.

I'd say I have regular sized ears and there is still room left.

You're obviously dragging the cables over the edge of your desk, I've never had such problems, I have a braided mouse cable thats five years old and looks brand new

Funny thing is, I've not had the option to do so. Back in my flat, my laptop was right next to where I sat, so the cables were too long and thus were draped all over the place. The braids have been broken since very early. Similarly, in my current situation the cables are completely stretched out and whilst the headphone cables do go around the table and catch on the edges, it's actually still the straight bit near the end that remains damaged. I'd love it if we got thick regular cables like on the Audio Technika headphones. I used them on phone out and about, took them to parties and nights out drinking... not a scratch on those headphones or the cable (though I might have spilt a little booze on them once, easily cleaned off and still works).

As for the choice of earcups, I've kept the regular leather since I find those very comfortable. Plus the velour tends to get dirty, attracting dust and fluff on it. One of my older headphones had similar cups.

Not particularly pleased. And I feel sorry for Justin my driver. Your DPD order will be delivered between 20:17-21:17 today. That's pretty rubbish. I could understand not having a morning slot, or even an early afternoon slot but after 8pm? Srsly?
