Unfortunately, you have no proof of the matter, but you get a gut feeling when something like this happens.
I had one little toerag bounce on my bonnet and boot a wing mirror off after I gave him an earful for throwing bottles in the street where, not only was there a number of cars, but little kids rode their bicycles about. Even though my ex-flatmate saw him jumping up and down my bonnet (my ex-flatmate was a tiny bloke and wasn't the type to confront someone - I was out, unfortunately), he denied it when I got my hands on him the next day. He confessed eventually though, under duress, and I foolishly thought that was the end of it. Unfortunately, the wing mirror went again four months later - three days before I moved home
