hyperthreading and bf3???

Come to think of it, at the same reboot I did to change the HT in the bios I changed the drivers back to the older ones I used during BF3 beta (which ran smooth)... So might also be that. Can check it tonight if anyone is interested.

Hmm, strange. You and Vir have identical setups for the most part. His stutters with HT on and yours doesnt. I'd put it down to user error with regards to game settings, but disabling HT cured his problem.

Confusing lol

^ I would be :)

I had stuttering with the latest 285.62 WHQL drivers and HT on.
I've now downgraded to the 285.38 beta drivers and turned HT off and I have silky smooth gameplay.
Really, that's the only things that have changed :)

I'm running stock 2.67Ghz for my i7 920. Maybe that's the difference? I can do some testing tonight and post back here.

Well, just ran it on stock speeds and with hyperthreading. 285.62 WHQL drivers installed and stock speeds, noticed no stuttering at all. Used the Ultra pre-set options as well.

Alright, I'm confused :) Really weird... Wonder what might be causing it for some of us! I'll switch HT on and off again and see if I have any differences, after that I'll try if with HT off with the 285.62 WHQL drivers

Yeah I'll let you guys know tonight. At work now F F S. It's hard with BF3 out... being at work.

This morning I turned only HT on (on the 285.38 drivers) and I got the stuttering back. So for me it does seem HT (HyperThreading) impacts the stuttering. Hope I can help anyone in the same boat.
Tonight I'll go to the newer drivers with HT off and see how that goes.

I have a 2500k @ 4.6 with a gtx480 SOC and 16gb HyperX grey. I get to some parts of the game where it starts to stutter, like single frame rates :(

I just down clocked to 4.4 now.

it hasn't completely got rid of it for me i still slightly get it..

there's loads of peeps with this problem on the official bf3 forums through the battle log...

I had bad stuttering problems with the game and everything else I tried didn't help. (drivers, settings, etc). Turning Hyperthreading off cured the problem for me 100%, now silky smooth. I'm sure a patch will fix the issue in the not too distant future......
