HyperX Cloud II Headset Review.

sound is the same it's the same headset just has a usb adapter and a different connector (4pole)

as for the siberia v2 meh can't answer that different sounds are good or bad to different people. plus one is open back the other is closed.

Having directly compared both - the bass on the Siberia is massively better than the HyperX - but the HyperX has better treble.

As I prefer bass, however, I miss my broken Siberia! :(

(Got that damned Megan Traynor song stuck in my head... time for some Sevendust and drown that sugarry mess out).

Bass is cack for gaming though but i do agree I have siberia ones and they were pretty bassy

I use MMX 300 here at work and X1's at home I have a pair of clouds and they do lack bass which is perhaps what makes them so acceptable as a cheap gaming headset.

Try kvelertak blodtorst if you want to get a crap song out of your head :D

Highly recommend the HyperX Clouds! Got mine this morning and instantly even just opening the box you feel like you have something of very high quality. I paid roughly the same for my previous pair of Steelseries which now feel like a cheap bit of plastic tat in comparison. Admittedly I'm no audio buff but the sound is very crisp with just the right level of bass they hug your head very well I can't even hear myself typing. Don't hesitate in getting these if you are on the fence!

Now I've had a quick chance to try them out.... I bought them for the Vive as the supplied earphones fall out when I move my head.

Set Up - Plug'n'play, really simple.

Comfort - Not heavy at all, I've only tried the leatherette ear pads which are fine although I did get quite warm when gaming.

VR - No issues with the fit over the Vive. Sound is good. Got very warm ears and an achey arm after 28 waves of Longbow in The Lab. It has a short cable as I didn't use the 7.1 part so no getting tangled up or having to route anything.

Gaming - Again no problem. I don't need them for PC gaming as I have speakers.

Music - Best without the 7.1 IMO. But a nice amount of bass.

Mic - Recording my own dulcet tones, came back clear so happy with that.

Personally I returned the Cloud I because it was uncomfortable on the headband. The Cloud II I use now has memory foam in the headband so is much better in my opinion. I find the clamping pressure a bit much but they've loosened up over time.

Guys i have just picked up a pair of these and am unsure what settings to use..

In windows and PC games is it best to leave settings as stereo and then hit the 7.1 button on the usb dongle for virtual surround?
