Hiyahh! :D

Im curious to what the forum thinks about this?

Full story... I have Eczema, always have since birth. Not just the common joints, but everywhere! It has always been part of me since 0-19 where for some reason it vanished for about 3-4 years, but the past 1-2 years its been back, and does get really bad!

The years whilst it was pretty much away, nothing had changed, no different diet, no more or less stress... i just basically didnt have it!

I had tests any everything, no proper bad allergies :) Tried lots of different things, light treatment (not fun), any creams available, etc. Most does clear it, but as soon as off the creams or whatnot it comes back!

My big problem is i do lots in my sleep... im fairly good during the day with it, but at night i seem to 'go to town' on myself!

This time its starting to really get me down... and i just had ANOTHER week off work cus of it!

So i thought of this Hypnotic Treatment as a possible idea, or at least something to try!

What does everyone think about it...? Load of rubbish or a viable treatment?

Thanks

Craig!! :D

(excuse the long post, didnt meant to do that! But then i thought if people wanted a reason as to why i was looking into it, id be as well giving it)

Completley depends on if you believe hypnotism works or not, I think.

It's my understanding that if you think its a load of clap trap you can't be hypnotised. Not completley sure on that though.

When you say you 'do lots' in your sleep, do you mean itching and things like that? I'm not sure of the effectiveness of hypnosis on sleep behaviour. I think hypnosis is a viable treatment for some things, certainly, though you do have to be willing to let yourself be hypnotised and follow the instructions (I think you can be hypnotised despite being a sceptic, as long as you don't fight it).

I went to a homoeopathic practitioner with our daughter when we got fed up with the steroid creams etc. and the eczema went after 2 weeks, never to be seen again.

The weird thing is that I know it's a load of tosh and don't believe in it at all, but it worked.

Another thing to consider is accupuncture as I know from experience how effective this is. Find someone who practices Chinese rather that NHS / topical accupuncture, as this style treats the whole body and mind, rather than just the symptoms.

I mean do lots as in scratching... everwhere! I dunno why... or what causes where to be scratched, but recently its all over my neck, lower back, hips and arms that are gettin it :(

Thanks for the comments so far... i do believe in it actually! Im quite an open and trusting person in things really... until proven wrong :P

I went for an anxiety disorder, didn't really do anything for me apart from when i was actually lay down listening to her voice, and then maybe for a few hours later.

What did the homoeopathic practitioner do... what does that consist of?

Never considered accupuncture actually... i thought that was more bones and stuff?
