After reading a thread in GD about being fined for parking over the white line in a car park, I wondered.....

If you parked across 2 bays in a pay and display carpark, but purchased 2 tickets and displayed them, would you be doing anything wrong?

As I see it, you have payed the price for 2 bays, and are displaying the tickets as required by the 'laws' of the carpark.

Think about it :D

Technically I don't think you would be doing anything wrong (apart from parking like a spaz!), but I'd bet you'd get issued a ticket anyway!

there is a bentley in London that does exactly this in an ncp car park near centrepoint, annoys me immensly because parking is very hard to come by around there! but he/she pays the cash so I guess its cricket

hmm, interesting.
dont get me wrong, I dont park like a spaz, I use the parent/child spaces :D so I have more room anyway.

I parked in a corner spot and my wheel was over the line

note that this does not infringe into another parking space as the corner plot is a dead area.
I still got a ticket...

one day I'll go back and fill all the parking meter coin slots up with "no-more-nails" and let everyone have a free parking day.

if the meters are out of order you have to park somewhere else otherwise its an instant ticket. Most stupid rule ever, but thats parking law for ya

I never knew that, around here when the meters been out of order, the warden has always said just park anyway.

I wasn't thinking of London type meters, I was thinking of the ones in car parks.
I can't see 700 people finding somewhere else to park :)

they shut a car park the other day (ncp just off curzon street, mayfair) because the meters didnt work, its amazing how selfish they are in London, if a machine is broken it counts as "bay suspended", same goes for a whole multi storey car park too
