Have been looking at 1998 2.0SE model. Anyone got any experience with these or any other suggestions?
 
Parkers seem to like it, not amazing performance but on paper it seems to be what I'm after. Going to test drive one this week thought someone might of had one though
 
Love them.

Drives lovely, interior is a nice comfortable place to be,
Porsche engineered Chassis is very nice to drive. Comfortable over long distances but good when throwing it around.

2.7l V6 is the best engine, lots of nice torque - 2.0 needs to have the nuts worked off it

Looks on the earlier ones are good - but the later ones look better tbh.

F2 Evo models are well worth hunting out.

Many people seem to slate them on here - but they are damn good cars. Well priced and more importantly good fun.

I really don't like the looks - real toytown car. All bulbous curves....

Neighbour test drove one and just laughed when he got out and the owner walked back to it and I rate his opinion very highly, so that's a no from me :)

May have been a lowly one tho, so you never know :)
 
Cheers for the input seems to be a love it or hate it car. Will find out when I have a test
 
My mother has been through a lot of these cars. My dad had a deal at work where she'd keep one for 6 months before getting a new one.

She always had the two litre model in various guises.

I always think they're a bit feminine, but it had everything you could want. Electric everything.

The engine was just okay. No real thrills. Smooth gearchange. Cramped interior.

I could take it or leave it though.
 
I can't help but feel all modern cars are filled with plastic bolted to metal. Which feels rattly and tacky. It's just that some companies use better insulation and tougher materials and better feeling sufaces, which gives the edge over others.

To me this is the last part of a car I would be worried about. I have found quite a few people who like their Hyundai Coupe and value the performance too. There are "better" vehicles out there with equivalent if not better style and features but they tend to be high milage branded ego machines.

Owning a car is for you, not what other people think of you and your car. If you love the styling and can rest easy with the plastic being made in Taiwan and not China, then buy it. Just consider the options and know that whatever car you own, it's only going to be as good as it's owner. They all need regular service, love and sexual attention.
 
Don't know much about the car, but I ain't a huge fan of how it looks. I had a wee bit of fun with the 2.7 v6 model and it seemed quick enough.
 
Had one overtake the car behind me and myself today in a 30 zone :mad: . Hate the rear end on them. IMO a super ugly cheap looking coupe. An associate has an old school one which is very plastic inside as fox has said.
