That BSEL mod does work, but use thick tape cause sometimes the socket pin goes through the tape and still makes contact with the cpu..

Best thing to use is nail polish (dried first)

I got my Q6600 to clean up the thermal paste in prep for my shuttle tomorrow, and i flipped it over and saw......... NO PINS. So after about 10 minutes of shock.... i searched online and found, they dont do pins anymore Thought my day tomorrow was going to be ruined lol
