I am having trouble getting windows 7 on my computer

I cant seem to get windows to load of disc drive iv turned the hdd off to boot from so only disc drive is bootable from and i get a message saying no disc detected press f1 to try again.

what should i do.

first port of call is to try another disc and see if that is recognised either your cd or drive maybe damaged

You don't turn the hard drive off, you just change the boot order so it boots from cd/dvd drive first.

Ok the disc drive works, iv tried it with the hard drive on and still dosent work, any other ideas?

Is the disc scratched? Does it work in another machine?

I had the same problem installing Windows 7. I purchase a digital download version and after burning to DVD, following instructions exactly I got the same messages.

My solution was to install from a Pen drive. If you do consider doing things this way make sure to read up first as the pen drive needs to be prepared before copying files to it.
