Seriously, you've basically told us you can't be arsed to do work and that you have a poor work ethic and no people skills.

Not everyone can be a rocket scientist. Perhaps a nice simple job would be better?

I know I have issues.

I am intelligent (study/exam wise) but I am seriously one lazy assed socially inept mofo.

Doing something with my Sports Science degree would be fun and motivate me but I really dont see much realistic jobs here.

But if it were fun I can be motivated and have high work ethic.

I may do a masters or post grad in sports nutrition/nutrition.

But I need funding?

I like biomechanics/kineisiology as well but job wise? I dont know?

Maybe physiotherapy?

Isn't that what he's after in this thread - he just wants to learn some simple book keeping and get a mundane job rather than pursue something a bit deeper like becoming a Chartered Accountant etc...

@OP - perhaps an idea might be to get some form of admin role in a finance dept and then see what sort of roles you think you could cope with/tolerate etc...

A few of the finance bods where I work are studying towards CIMA though their regular finance jobs seem to be fairly mundane/boring.

Perhpas you could get a general **** job in a finance dept, see how it fits you then decide whether you want to pursue book keeping. Might well be a better option than studying for it and realising you hate it.

So you think that book keepers get to work from home?

yeh thats why I was thinking bookkeeping, a job I can get quick, earn some cash and see if I like or dislike office/finance type job.

Yeh i think self employed bookkeepers work from home.

Maybe we're using different definitions of what bookkeeping is but what is it that gives you the impression that bookkeepers work from home or at least that it's normal for freelancing bookkeepers to do so? Generally you'd be expected to be in whatever office you're freelancing at to process the financial transactions and do the necessary recording of them.

I don't want to pour water on your fire here but if you could give an indication of why you think it's common for bookkeepers to work from home when freelancing that might help.

Just reading online.

You off course need documents from the people. It depends how you work.

If you are doing bookkeeping for a finance team obviously you will be based in their office.

If you do books for small shops and companies, take away shop, restaurant etc..etc...then you would work from home.

Ok then, let's skirt that particular issue and suppose for a second that you can work from home and that small companies would be happy to let you take away their records. What can you offer them that would entice them to use you over anyone else? How are you going to get the work? If you don't cope well in social situations then how are you going to talk people into giving you the work? Do you envisage yourself being part of an agency who will get you work - if not how are companies going to hear of you and what experience can you offer them? Just thinking about it myself I'd not be particularly inclined to give this fairly vital task to someone if they can't demonstrate at least a modicum of talent and experience in it.

.

This is way in future for experienced bookkeeper. Sure for me it would not be easy freelance work.

Lots of Bookkeeping firms springing up in the third world, it's a very offshoreable process.

serious? or you being saracastic? That would be good a job that allows travel is nice. And they want English speakers?

If you get bored easy and have no self motivation then not really worth considering bookkeeping as a career, even if it is short term. you might as well just be a typical english graduate and go on the dole until you decide what you want to do!

.

Sure but I also feel its a safe/steady job and relatively straightforward which can outweigh the negativitites...in this day and age how many people can say they have a safe, secure job and well paid. Bookkeeping/accounts offers that

Where are you going to keep the books?

Only the bookkeeper knows but to get to the bookkeeper you must 1st find the keymaster who has the key to the bookkeepers bookkeeping storage facilities.

Well I guess that makes sense. But still if they cant do the job they will need bookkeepers.

However, I still see many jobs for bookkeeping advertised.

Problem is the all state ''looking for EXPERIENCED bookkeeper''

i think if you study accounts with firm you are set for life if you enjoy the job.

Fox is correct on this one book-keepers are typically ~ £18K upto ~£25K from my experience.

Just do the Accountancy training with a local firm or one of the big ones. You get paid reasonably well during your training (as much as you would earn as a book keeper) and then you can earn big money at the end of it doing easy work somewhere else.

And how would one go about this.

I have searched google but no such luck so far.

Searching for accountancy trainee etc....graduate accountant training etc..

in fact accoutns may not even be that easy to get into either

''I graduated from a Scottish uni in June with a 2:1 in Accounting & Law and prior to graduating, starting from the September I applied for over 80 graduate schemes both in Scotland and down south.

I had maybe 10 interviews for these positions and 1 second interview with no success and through out finishing my degree I kept applying for positions with no luck. However, things were not so bad at this point as I was in paid employment (part time cleaning job and have previously worked in retail). ''

wtf!!!

In fact I think I would like to start my own tv interview show.

Like Mrs Merton but obviously Im a guy. but Im funny and I look funny. I could make like a spoof interview show like Alan Partidge did and I could get famous people on the show and ask them silly things and make them do silly things. And at the end of the show I could play a song with my band.

but how would I get this job? Should I propose to BBC/Itv my plan and then do a rehersal
