Crusty White covered Dog **** on the pavement, what the hell was that about?!?!

I heard it was down to a bleaching agent in Bob Martin Conditioning tablets. No idea if it's true.

I was 18 in 1984 and by then the 1st and 2nd waves of punk had changed mainstream attitudes.

A teenage pregnancy was hidden and not talked about.

In 1982 a girl in the fifth form was pregnant, she didn't have it easy, very few people had nice things to say about her.

Veneer Panelled Games Consoles...

That was something that stood out from my very young youth.

I'm 20 so I don't remember as far back as some of those things.

I remember the "Pop Wagon" driving from street to street in the same style as an ice cream van would but selling proper glass bottles of Lemonade/Limeade/Cherryade etc. I think they were made by Ben Shaws and some by Bass. The best part about it was returning your empty bottles to him for a 10p refund. :D

Ahhhh nostalgia... it's not what it used to be.

I didn't know The Village People were gay until a couple of years ago, saw 'em on telly and laughed.

Gay wasn't talked about in them days, it was a man's world.

Don't tell me, you thought George Michael was straight as well? And I bet you watched the Club Tropicana video without realising right away. :p

I'm pretty young compared to many on here but I still remember when Snickers bars were called Marathons and Starbursts were called Opal Fruits - change is not always good.

When Michael Jackson looked black. :p

When gay meant happy.

When people spelt correctly.

When girls showing knees was deemed racy.

When I was a perma 90+% student at school.

When sports were not so commercialised and just good old sports.

When kids got slapped or got a clip round the ear (with a spatula if me) for something as trivial as saying a swearie.

Where teenagers and kids respected their elders.

Goold old days...

I'm only 23. :p

I'd always had my suspicions about Boy George, but yeah, George Michael was a major surprise.

I don't remember marathons but I do remember Opal fruits, they tasted so much nicer... :p

And I can remember white dog poo too.

(20 BTW)

I remember when children were actually child-like, not the raging hormonal, over weight 'pre-teens' they seem to have become. (I'm only 18 and it makes me sad to think that 7 year olds are asking for mobiles and not barbies and footballs.)
