Well after much deliberation and thought about my previous thread here I was almost ready to just take the warranty on the 911 and be done with it. Then something unusual happened, a car dealer actually wanted to do a deal without negotiating and any hassle . So, I ended up with a brand new car for $10k off the sticker price making it far too good a deal to pass up. Coupled with the best trade values I've ever been offered on the 911/135i made for a nice easy deal.

Rest assured HRE forged monoblocks will be going on it soon as will a nice exhaust but for the moment I'm thrilled and I genuinely feel I made the right decision to put myself in a nice situation for the next few years while I save up for my Turbo S!

Enjoy the pics and you've gotta love that carbon roof!

PS. Fox I'm sorry it's not Fox Red interior but it does have every other option ticked aside from the heated seats.

How do you rate the M3 vs your 911? I would guess the m3 would feel more refined, but the V8 must make it faster in a straight line? Also, whats the driving experience like between the 2?

Very nice car

It's faster than my 911 for sure, especially since it has the DCT transmission, it shifts very quickly indeed. In the sport mode it literally hammers the gears in giving it pretty relentless acceleration.

As for handling, don't forget I live in Florida, the most aggressive corner I take is an intersection :(. But no in all seriousness, I took it around the local lanes yesterday and it handles superbly. Combined with the beautiful sumptuous interior and all the toys and it makes for a lovely place to be on a daily basis.

It's no 911 and it never will be but the M3 impressed me so much on my test drive that it swung my decision almost instantly. I actually went in expecting to not like it then I drove one on Friday night and bought it 8 hours later :p

Well done, I'm sure you'll be happy with the M3, great car though not sure black shows it off to best effect, not least when you have such good weather over there, but if you're happy with it who gives a ****.

They feel a bit more insulated and removed when compared to the 997 but I'd expect a 997 S to show it a clean pair of heels in a straight line.

Actually the 997.1S is ever so slightly slower in a straight line, proved in person last night by myself and a friend. The .2 however does indeed take the M3.

Black wasn't my first choice of colour but it is fairly subtle. I guess I'm joining you in the "in between 911" phase of my life now.

Sorry I thought you had a Gen2, pretty much even then I'd suspect, need to have someone who can change gear in the Pork, so in the USA highly unlikely :D

I really wish the UK would allow no front plates (they do on bikes, so why not on cars? :(). Makes cars look so much nicer.

One of the few BMWs I'd happily buy - I do like those a lot. :)

Glad your dilema ended happily!

Lovely car, & agree entirely re the plates.

I Look forward to follow up threads. :)

Nice deal too!
