I've read threads where people are refusing to buy graphics cards atm.

Covid has affected retail prices, but only by 20% from my Google searches.

It's not like it's double the price.

Life is short. There's no time to penny pinch.

Most Gpus are atleast 50% over msrp and some are even as much as +100% meanwhile the companies making these are all posting record profits so I don't blame consumers for not wanting to buy these.

Had more people shown a bit of nerve and not been willing to bend over then prices would be back to msrp levels by now and everyone benefits.

There's something wrong with your google-fu, they are double.

It depends on warranty I guess.

I ordered a 3070 Ti on a well known auction site with a 20% bump on top of the RRP.

If it bricks on me, I'll just buy another.

Meanwhile I got 3080FE which I paid £649 for and comes with 3 years warranty 2gb more VRAM and is 25% faster.

I'm drunk bro. Ignore me.

I like a nice deal.

I don't see the point of paying for the 3090 as the performance boost is miniscule long term.

I remember dropping £700 on the 7800 GT.

The game will change when quantum computers see daylight soon. It'll be nice if Intel and AMD don't have the monopoly on that tech.

A fool and his money are soon parted. Some fools part with more, especially went drunk! Don't drink and shop....

Not giving in to the ridiculous prices of GPUs means I'm not upgrading my aging system (4790k 1080ti based) for at least a year. The summed difference could be a thousand, probably more.

I doubt you or I will be alive when quantum computers become desktop consumer items, likely never.
