I don't get Noel Fielding's work

I saw the Mighty Boosh years ago live and nearly cried with laughter. Never really got into the TV show though. Never seen his stand-up, but I rarely find stand-up on TV funny anyway. It really seems to really lose something in translation.

Same goes watching bands on TV for me, just no comparison to actually being there live (although as a caveat I find that when I've been to see bands at Glastonbury etc and been standing miles away from the stage it's always a bit lame).

Most of his stand up stuff is pretty old, before he was in the Boosh.

You have to have the right sense of humour to find him funny I think. I saw him at the Albert Hall do live stand up last year and it was bloody funny.

I watched it round my Dads house (Might Boosh that is). When I was sober I struggled. I think some of it is funny because of how random it is. When the drink started kicking in a little it got better but I soon got annoyed and bored with it.

My Step Mums son is pretty much Noel Fielding with blonde hair. He dresses the same so the show pretty much sums up what goes on in his head.

I really don't like The Mighty Boosh. It isn't funny. He seems to go for the I'm weird therefore cool AND funny approach. It doesn't really work. Sometimes he raises a smile but he's not in the same league as Russell Brand who is actually intelligent and funny.

The Might Boosh is awful, one of the worst things the BBC tax could be spent on. I'm not surprised he doesn't translate well to a standup format.

Did you have the sound on? You know you need the sound on right?!

yeah, I just find him to be one of those "say random words to be funny" people. I can't stand Ross Noble either. The meat to the face thing irritates me!!

He is as funny as gonahrea!

if you're going to make a simile in an attempt to be funny, at least look up the word!

Seen him live twice now. I think he's ok. Much more amusing than say Jack Dee or Jo Brand. He's way outside the box, and rambles. I think it's structured improv. Either way, if you can keep up, and enjoy a bit of randomness he's pretty good :).

No, he didn't. He wasn't funny on the radio, and he isn't funny on television.

The boosh radio show was fantastic. Better than the tv show even (which imo started strong and has gone downhill). Can you think of a funnier radio play/radio comedy?.
