I dont know what to do please help

Hi guys,

Its been a while.

Long story short im in need of some help.

Just upgraded my virgin today to 50mb from 30mb and I thought it was gonna be a doddle.

Its not. Im only getting 2mb download speed on speedtest.net.

I followed virgins instuctions to the letter and after a call to there help line im still no further forward apart from when I was prompted to do the speedtest in safe mode with networking I got my full speed.

So im asking you gurus where am I going wrong? I was getting full speed on my old superhub.

Any ideas help or advice out here??
 
Look at your security software, especially if you have anything nasty like ZoneAlarm installed.

If it's okay in Safe Mode Virgin have proved that it isn't their problem.
 
Ive checked. I don't have zone alarm.

When I connected the new superhub up it moved my connection to network 4. It was on 3.

I don't know why this has happened or even if its important.

Ive got avg as my security software and ive ran malware bytes for nasties and all was clean.

Any other things I could try?
 
My guess is something is loading in Windows (not in safe mode) that is leeching your bandwidth.
Do you have Steam loading at start-up that could be downloading updates? Do you have a Torrent downloader running on start-up?
