I don't understand the point of 4k

Yeah, my 58" 4k LED was rrp of £2400 when it was released in April 2014.

I got it for about £1600 in November 2014

Wow thats some drop, is there any point getting tvs when they are first released? (I'm assuming you bought new).

My in-laws bought an LG 4k in June 50" for £850. I just managed to get the 55" version for £779 (I got a further 20% off staff discount on top of that also!).

Don't buy TV's when they first come out
