I finally bought a DSLR!

So I called up a local shop who was doing a good deal on the D60 with a free bag etc. They said they had one in stock.

Went to the shop and noticed that their D60 display unit wasnt there. 2+2 anyone?

So I said to them I wanted a brand new D60 please. So hopefully I'll get my mits on it on Tuesday.

They managed to blag a Clear UV Filter lens for 7 quid. They claimed that its best to use them to prevent scratches on your lens. Bull or truth?

Anyway I just want to take this opportunity to say thank to the OCUK photography masses who gave me advise regarding DSLR cameras over the past few months. Appreciated

Is it worth getting that fast Sandisk memory (black and red colours on the stick itself).
Or should I be good with the standard blue Sandisk memory stuff?

Any ideas with regard to my memory question? I managed to find an 8GB SD stick which is the same price as the 2GB Sandisk Extreme III.

Is it worth me going for extra capacity or faster access?

Infact can D60's accept 8GB SDHC for that matter?

So when flicking through photos on the device itself, it would be much quicker using the Extreme III stuff?
Would it be laggy on the 8GB standard? (and would 8GB be compatible with a D60?)

Hmm I seem to have stumbled across SD cards which have integrated USB interface as well (one of those flip open affairs).

Are these any good?

I've gone with Sandisk 2GB Extreme III for 12.99 delivered.
I think thats a fair price. And if I want more, can always buy another 2GB.
I mean 12.99 is cheap as chips considering they were charging 31 quid in the shop :eek:

Bah.. Im trying! But the threads arent aligning.
Its a Jessops UV 55mm lens onto the 18-55 AFS VR Nikkor Lens.

How do you know the lens thread is 52mm? (Where would it tell you this information... i.e. for future reference)
