After the debacle that was the Focus ST that was a repaired write off that clunked and banged and i never really trusted i became disheartened and decided i couldn't afford a quick car so carried on saving up and made do with the 1.2 clio my mate had lent me!

The clio was a former write off but had no issues at all and has just today flown through it's MOT.

However i have finally put my cash down and am waiting on delivery of

60 plate so almost the last of it's kind, i believe there's a few 11 plates knocking about.

25k on the clock and had for 11K.

There's nothing to want on it as everything comes as standard including the LSD.

I'm like a kid at christmas i just want it now but i'm going away on holiday in a week so i'm taking delivery of it when i get back in 3 weeks as i'd rather leave the clio in an airport car park than the civic!

should have got a s2000 for the money, would lose less in depreciation, that shape type R seem to tank quite badly on resale value, plus theirs loads of them about! plus i dont think i could live with the space age fridge styling it has! much prefer the ep3.

Also red is too common too, for that sort of money i would have wanted a white one, which are pretty rare tbh and look not too bad in white.

excellent work mate, the LSD model is definitely the one to go for. Not keen on the red but now you can post in the vtec thread with the rest of the cool kids.

I guess a 2 seater RWD convertible car designed in 1999 is identical to a 5 seat FWD hot hatch designed in 2006.

GO HOME M8

I guess their is the seat factor, but just putting my point across. Sorry if i hit a nerve BRO AND BY BRO I MEAN NEVER MY BRO M8

Also the guy never said anything about needing or wanting a certain type of car, only the fact he wanted something fast. Just giving my opinion after driving a ep3, fn2 and s2000. and the fact the fn2 seem to not hold their value very well at all due to them being like Rats, never far away from one.

The S2000 wasn't practical as a 2 seater convertible doesn't suit our lifestyle at the minute, I looked at the EP3 but i much prefer the interior of the new one and after all thats where i spend all my time.

I remember in 2002 looking at an EP3 and the dealer not even letting me take it for a test drive as he said i'd never be able to insure it.... back then i was 20 and a new driver and got quoted 2.5k for the insurance.

Now it's costing me £325 a year, strangely £10 cheaper a year than my 57plate 1.2 clio?!?

Fair but no one asked what you would have bought.

Normally when people buy cars they compare them to similar car in it's class.

For example; a Focus ST, Golf GTI, etc

If I had 10K spare now Id buy a Supra TT and probably crash it.

Or supercharge my CRZ.

But no one asked me.

So I'll STFU

i agree the inside of the fn2 is miles ahead of the EP3, and its actually quite a nice place to sit, but i could not live with the outside personally, having said that my girlfriend loves both the inside and outside so each to their own! its a nice car in its own right, but personally i like something that your not going to be seeing every day of the week!

Also like i said i would have gone for a white one as they seem to be more rare, and i would imagine hold better value then the red which is one of the most popular colours

The only proviso the wife gave me was not white so that scuppered that idea! I don't like the silver and someone at work has a black type s so that's why i went with red.

The Championship..... white cars command a frankly stupid premium.

I really liked my diseasel civic inside and out, hopefully the FN2 will prove to be a better buy than that ST

Enjoy your FN2 OP!

But it definately needs some bits doing to it, which you'll realise in time ;)

Eibach Pro Kit springs, and a Fast Road Setup (Geo tweaks) are a must! oh, and get signed up to the Civ Info forums.

Thanks for the advice, i'll look into playing with it when i get bored or irritated or both.

The wife wants me to get some reversing sensors retrofitted as she complained about the rear visibility, as it's our only car and i'd rather she didn't bend it i'll probably get that done first!

i have to give a little bit back to her as it's not like her to say yes to something like the civic! and she suggested i look at them?!?

Don't listen to people saying you should have got an EP3. EP3's look disgusting and very dated now, inside and out  *RUNS*

Nice car :)

Criticise someone for buying something that loses money heavily.... suggests they pay for 2k (or however much more they demand) more for a Championship White one.

Made me lol thank you

And jono8 I agree with you on that, a lad at work has a silver ep3 with gold alloys looks very dated now
