I finally got my own dog!

To be honest, I've never known a breed of dog where almost every one has the same characteristics as other bullies. They all fart something chronic, they can't drink properly and will generally flood the kitchen, they don't chew food just throw it down their throat (probably linked with the farting) and are the most stubborn dogs ever. Hate walking, think every command means sleep or lay down and also think anything they can reach is their food. Also quite vocal, talk all the time and give loads of backchat and snore like an old man.
Intelligence wise, quite surprising. We have a rule in the house where no dog is allowed on the settee unless there is a blanket down AND they are invited. Recently Stella (my bullie) has taken to taking the blanket off the bean bag in the corner of the room, dragging it onto the settee and laying on it. If she's naughty she was made to go to her bed, but recently she's been a little sod (teenage years) and then running to her bed thinking she's doing good. She can open doors (we've now had to bolt them at the top) and can do quite a few commands now with ease. We've taken her to agility where she passed with flying colours, although she did run away with one of the gates in her mouth after I tripped and smashed it to pieces.
And as for affection, incredible. They hate been left alone, will always try and sit next to you for company, tail constantly wagging whatever you're doing.

I don't understand how anyone can't see them that way. One of the ugliest animals alive.
He is lovely! Ours is pretty big I guess, though sometimes she looks tiny!
Admittedly I had no idea what a Bull terrier looked like, the name just popped into my head.
I always wondered what breed them dogs were, never seen one out and about though.

My own passed away a couple of months ago now, he would've been 18 in December. Can't say I could ever ask for a more fantastic temperment in a dog.

I actually did almost squeal when I saw the pics, I'm such a girl sometimes.

Have to, they suffer from the cold weather quite badly. They're not as tough as people think, far from it, pads are notorious for bleeding 'cos they're so rubbish (probably why they hate walking) and a slight drop in temperature just makes them shiver.
