I forgot about PhysX

Done it 3 times. Basically Nvidia are to blame because I can't start the two games I bought the new ATI card for in the first place because of stupid Physx drivers not installing/uninstalling.

There is a fix, if a reboot doesnt help, first check you are shot of all nvidia drivers, then go into the metro folder, and in the install file uninstall and reinstall physx there should be a file to do it.

I used a GTS 220 with HD4850 for PhysX. It worked but introduced sound glitches and system instability, which I put down to having to move the hotter Radeon next to my soundcard (the nvidia card was not recognised at all if installed in 2nd PCI-E slot).

If I bother with physx again it will be just with the one nvidia card.

Well after a painful experience with hdderase and my SSD I finnally formatted and everything it working again. I can now play Gothic 4 full 1080P @40-65 FPS and Metro is running smooth 50FPS average max.

The 9800GTX crippled at 10 fps with Metro on full and 25fps Gothic 4 720p. I would have expected a bit more of a performance boost from the 5870 though? Seems like it won't last that long before an upgrade.
